Econotherm® ships a $2.5M 15.5 MW Air Pre-Heater for installation in a major expansion of a US Oil Refinery. The new build unit is expected to be installed during Q3 2021.
Econotherm® confirmed as the heat pipe delivery partner in the EU funded iWay project. With 12.3 M Euro funding and 19 participants the project is focused on water recycling in a variety of industrial settings. The project will commence on the 1st December 2020 and run for 48 months. There is a pressing need for new technologies and approaches that complement economic growth and productivity while firstly addressing environmental challenges. iWAYS is a step in this direction, featuring a wide array of technologies that are non-disruptive and applicable in any industry with wastewater and gaseous emissions. While the concept of water and heat recovery have been demonstrated and widely applied, in iWAYS a unique approach is taken, focusing on until now impossible streams to address and building synergies between heat and water reclamation and exploitation. The project also addresses several issues afflicting commercial technologies (such as Reverse Osmosis and Membrane Distillation) through innovative and enabling approaches.

Econotherm® confirms £365K order for its novel CZ furnace cooling jackets from Norsun AS. The CZ cooling jackets were developed through a collaborative R&D exercise and resulted in an advanced multi-tubular heat pipe device capable of significantly increasing pull speed in the CZ silicon production process. Econotherm is proceeding to further develop the product to target 30% pull rate improvement. The CZ cooling jacket has built in inherent safety features making it the only device of it s type to meet Western safety standards.

Econotherm® has been awarded a $2.5m order for an 18.5 MW Heat Pipe Air Pre-Heater by a leading global Oil & Gas EPC. The unit is scheduled for delivery in Q1 2020 into one of the largest US Oil refineries as part of a major expansion and upgrade programme. The order was awarded at the end of an extensive procurement process in the face of intense competition from leading Asian suppliers. Econotherm® achieves breakthrough in development of CZ furnace cooling solution. Working with Norsun A/S as development customer the joint activity utilising prior IP from Econotherm achieved productivity improvements in excess of 15%. Development will continue to further optimise the solution.
Econotherm® has been awarded £162K funding through Innovate UK and the Newton overseas development fund to develop a solution for clean air drying of Mate Tea in Brazil. Econotherm® will lead a consortium that includes Brunel University, Sennai and Ervateira of Brazil which will develop and implement a novel heat pipe based air drying solution to address a particular issue in the Mate Tea processing.
Econotherm® has been awarded 394K Euros EU Horizon 2020 funding as a technology partner in the DREAM consortium to develop a new Eco ceramic tile kiln. Working with Brunel University and other specialist partners including the worlds largest ceramic tile kiln manufacturer the project will commence in October 2016 and run for approximately 30 months. Econotherm® in conjunction with Spirax Sarco Plc have successfully commissioned a 6.3 MW 2 stage steam generator on board a CNOOC oil production platform in the Bohai Sea. The unique design of unit utilises over 1100 6 Mtr heat pipes and delivers up to 8000 Kg/h of 10 Barg steam for use in the downstream process. Connected to a Mars Solar 100 gas turbine the unit was selected for its small footprint and high reliability given its criticality to the overall functioning of the platform. The unit is responsible for abating over 9000 tons per Annum of CO2 emissions.
Econotherm® Econotherm successfully commissions 1 MW air pre-heater at RAK’s UAE ceramic tile production facility. Building on earlier successes’ of heat recovery from the highly particulate laden, roller kiln, smoke stack Econotherm has proven once again its ability to “recover the irrecoverable”. Utilising the unique moving plate cleaning system the new unit is delivering clean hot air to the tile drying process and is expected to deliver a 12 month pay back at current fuel prices. The unit is responsible for abating over 1800 tons per Annum of CO2 emissions.
Econotherm® has secured a £400K order for a 2.8 MW air pre-heater for delivery at the largest Petro-Chemical facility in the USA. Due to be commissioned in June 2016 the unit is the first of 14 such units that will collectively abate over 58000 tons per Annum of CO2 emissions. Each unit comprises over 500 X 7 Mtr finned heat pipes and weighs 35 tons when built.

Econotherm® receives £95K order from the worlds largest ceramic tile manufacturer.The project will see Econotherm deliver a 1.5 MW waste heat recovery system with its innovative moving plate cleaning system to the customers facility in the UAE. Econotherm will also provide onsite personnel to oversee the installation of the system delivery of which is partnered with its Indian engineering partner.

Econotherm® completes commissioning of a ceramic tunnel kiln waste heat recovery system for Simpolo Vitrified Tiles in Morbi, India. An independent assessment of the system shows the performance to have significantly exceeded expectations in terms of the amount of thermal energy recovered. The system delivered with an integrated moving plate system provides hot air for the tile dryers and through energy savings gives the operator a 7 month payback on investment.
Econotherm® awarded TSB funding for development of Isothermal Fridge Shelves – working with a consortium including Brunel University and the UK’s second largest supermarket Econotherm® will develop the Isothermal display cabinet shelf concept into pre-production version. The concept has the potential to reduce display cabinet power consumption by 25% - 30% as well as dramatically reduce food wastage.

Econotherm® secures £30K order for a gas to air unit for an Indian ceramic tile manufacturer. This order was won in the face of stiff domestic competition and was leveraged from the success of previously delivered systems considered first of kind in this very challenging application.
Econotherm® secures £200K order for 3 units for a Malaysian palm oil plantation. Under this contract Econotherm will deliver over 1100 X 6 Mtr heat pipes to be fabricated into finished units with its Malaysian engineering partner.
